Pungency, By: Martin Chivaku

May 10, 2024 by Martin Chivaku

Pungency, By: Martin Chivaku

I finally found the perfect
Way to describe ourselves!

I mean, we’re delicate
And perhaps fumble!

We’re products of milk
Drooling down the nipples
Of our mothers’ breats!

We are the elites’ favorite
Dish and like David, hoping
One day we’ll sling their
Heads into the grave!

They created an alliance
With sharp ornaments to
Shut us down, whenever
We think of speaking up!

It’s a one sob story!

The weather they’ve used
Against us… Okay what if we
Play in the sun and spend
The short lives we have
Moribund?

We’re compatible with the
Cold and created COVID-19,
They did. And we all know
The trauma it left behind
In the streets of Italy.
With people falling
In the optics of
Romans — the
Modern day
Pauls.

“The heat is good for you!
It makes you stronger!”

They say, but
Do you remember
The story of Pompeii?
The story of our fellow
Cheeseman vaping into
The air like free smoke
From the lips of Wiz!

Yes! We’re the cheeseman
The delicate, the naive and
The weak!

We watch kids die of hunger
Every single day and can’t
Do a thing about it…

We watch the gun shoot
At the brave and we can’t do
A thing about it…

The nipples that drooled
For us to be deceptively strong,
Aren’t tender anymore!

We’re becoming extinct
With dinosaurs peaking at
Us and looking for a new
Habitat for us, preferably
In the cannibals’
Museums!

We’re dying
Yet we’re their way out!
Osteoporosis is becoming
Extinct to them as much
As we are!

We can poison them but
We’re delicate, we’re soft
And most of all, we love
Them… regardless of
How pungent they’ve
Made us become!

We’re the cheeseman!

I mean we’re delicate
And perhaps fumble!

Fungi and bacteria
Won’t destroy us…

We’re deceptively stronger
Than the World thinks
And one day,

The winter will fall
And we’ll be stronger
Than we’ve been
Before!
