Meditation On Welsh Folly, By: David Oderberg

July 9, 2024 by David Oderberg

Meditation On Welsh Folly, By: David Oderberg

Built by a Welshman whose name was Clough,
Three daft towers were never enough.
No four, nay five, and Hercules too
By a one-armed Buddha and a Palladian loo.
A chunk pulled from Bristol and a blinding blue tub
Come highly commended, this architectural hub.
Is it Florence? Or Naples? Far flung outcrop of Hellas?
No, it’s bonkers Portmeirion, thanks to C. Williams-Ellis.
