One-Sided Love, By: Thales Eduardo Cornii

March 19, 2025 by Thales Eduardo Cornii

One-Sided Love, By: Thales Eduardo Cornii

how it hurts to know that your brown eyes will never look at me with affection
while mine only find the fire when they get lost in yours
the storm of living in your absence is like living in the darkness of the deep sea
even in inhospitable conditions, you are the only life that persists in me
and without you there is no purpose, there is no life, I am an uninhabitable planet

the feeling of falling in love with you is like arson
my heart burns hot, but only ashes remain
obliterating any trace of feeling in me
leaving my lips bitter with so much anguish
and the emptiness in the place where feeling resided

non-reciprocity in love is the most annoying and poignant disease in existence
it slowly kills you inside, but keeps you alive to live this pain
It’s like waiting to die, but you’re not the only host to your cancer
It’s like waiting for a moment of clarity where there never was light
