My eyes are held wide open by a force beyond me in the smoke,
as the fire of truth burns away the lies produced by fear.
The human in me assumes the fetal position, in an attempt to preserve whatever defense I have left around my heart.
But the thick layer of skin around my pupils ive for so long upheld has burnt into ash,
and standing in front of me, I witness the intensity of disgusting, beautiful, ultimate truth.
And all I can do is cry. Cry like I’m the infant being held in the arms of my mother, inferior to a world I haven’t yet understood. As there is nothing more I can grasp to save me, I cry.
Falling to the feet of this being, I find myself begging for mercy.
But the force doesn’t explain, nor whip me for my sins.
It sings.
And in that moment, i surrender to its awfully beautiful harmony.
