Amsterdam Peace, By: Sally Woodhead

April 26, 2024 by Sally Woodhead

Amsterdam Peace, By: Sally Woodhead

Amsterdam here we are
It’s been on the agenda for years
And lived up to our expectations by far
and evaded all our fears

It’s a cruisey wander throughout the streets
Many relaxed or spaced individuals you will meet
Coffee shops abound with menus to excite
So a ‘spacetry’ cake was ordered and we took the first bite

5 hours a blur walking hand in hand
Our heads were high and legs felt like they were in quicksand

We attempted a restaurant to eat some food
But that was just putting the other customers into a bad mood
Cause we couldn’t eat, coordination had gone

It’s time to get the hell out of there, restaurant – be gone
Back to the hotel room
To the safety of our cave
This is no way for us oldies to behave

Thank you Amsterdam for giving us some respite
We escaped life for a few days and things have felt just right

We hope to return some day for another fun hit
For any haters out there please don’t comment until you have had a bit
There is a reason it is used, a reason it is abound
And in Amsterdam you can relax, marijuana peace you have found
