My Bones Are Stone, By: Paulette Hampton

September 11, 2024 by Paulette Hampton

My Bones Are Stone, By: Paulette Hampton

my bones are stone
hard and heavy
like the weight of your expectations
which roll their crushing clarity
over my naivety
and I’m too tired to move
the effort is as massive as
your ego that judges me
finding fault with the geometry
of the olive branch I extended to you
