O Friend !, By: Ahmad Cheema

May 23, 2024 by Ahmad Cheema

Destiny, luck, some call it fate
Some say; ‘it was written’, everything you ate

What comes with hard work
What comes with fate
An equation so complex
Nothing else can relate

Your hands may earn, an asset so precious
But they can’t earn, a good friend or mate
See what you are after, see what you chase
How sad to loose, what nature served on plate

May my friend stay happy,
Be happier day by day
May all their sorrows be mine,
My fortunes be their fate

O friend !!
Your night, my day
Your eye, my gaze
Your sea, my shore
Your heart, my soul

Though it came between us;
The mystery of time and space
But, this may not matter
A ‘golden heart’ it takes
