Romance Is Not Dead, By: Paul White

July 2, 2024 by Paul White

Romance Is Not Dead, By: Paul White

Romance is not dead,
Despite what you may have heard
It’s just hiding in corners
Biding its time
And designing complex charts
Criss-crossing happenstance and synchronicity
Laying tender traps
And digging holes for us to fall into.

Romance is not dead
Simply smiling infectiously
Releasing butterflies into the wild,
Plotting paths of endless possibilities
And nudging us gently on our trikes
From the top of tall hills

Romance is not dead
It’s just laying the groundwork
And walks away smiling
At a job well done
As we gleefully career out of control
Towards each other.
