Salvations Of The Sea, By: Arlin Mudju

December 3, 2024 by Arlin Mudju

Salvations Of The Sea, By: Arlin Mudju

somedays i think
my salvation
feels like the cold roughness
of the cobbles beneath my knees
the press of the wind against my cheek
a rain-drenched coat my only shelter
and my only warmth
the trickling red that leaks
from the claws of the metal crucifix
of my sole hope

sometimes i see
the sunrise over the iridescent sea
the pearly froth spilling onto golden sand
i can feel the swirl of the waves
enveloping my soul
and cupping it
gently
ever so
tenderly
to bring it back home
