Thanksgiving Weatherman, By: Andrew Cyr

November 22, 2023 by Andrew Cyr

Thanksgiving Weatherman, By: Andrew Cyr

The weatherman said
it was to be colder
this day.
I spliced the blinds
well before the city’s
sins rose above a sunrise.
The haze hung thick,
as evidenced by people
flashing their fog lights.
People honked their horns
at other cars just as late
to work as they themselves.
I sipped coffee, still
eyeing the townspeople.
Terrified to leave,
I worked from home.
I thought a lot as I chilled alone.
I heard a voice from behind
just in time for Thanksgiving.
Rebecca’s home.
I took another sip of coffee.
Life was warmer than before.
