Treedom, By: Gordon Roberts

January 7, 2026 by Gordon Roberts

Treedom, By: Gordon Roberts

Twisted road, twisted grill
Twisted bones, breathing stilled
Furrowed grass, broken fence
Tree trunk scarred, tin can bent
Drip drip blood
Drip drip fuel
Signal the end of an existence so cruelly endured

Life extinct
DNR
Nature will conceal the scar
The scene no more will be a scene
Little sign what once had been
A tortured soul with tortured thoughts
Unable to reconcile his loss
With the way his life was meant to be
Now ended by the old oak tree
Feel no more
Rest in peace
Your time with us is done
Your sorrow gifted to your kin
Their life of pain begun
