Being Married Means…, By: Thomas Hemminger

Being Married Means…, By: Thomas Hemminger

Being married means
laughing at ourselves
when you forget what you
came in the room for,
or when I twist my back
picking up my shoes.

It means a dream vacation
on a dusty East Texas farm,
and holding each other close
under a never-ending canopy
of stars.

It means
never feeling lonely
in a sea of people,
knowing there is always someone
who knows where I am.
