You always ignore me
when you walk past.
In your eyes I’m just
a lifeless pool of water.
The sun knows me better.
He visits every morning,
treating me as a diving pool,
collecting golden ripples.
The moon knows me better.
She drops by every evening,
seeing me as a dressing table
to unveil her shyness.
The ducks know me better.
They treat me as their playground,
bringing along their elderly and children,
chasing frogs, fish and water lilies.
The autumn leaves know me better.
They leap from the branches and drift
on my surface. When they are tired,
they dive to the bottom of my heart
and dream of spring.
