Waiata, By: Jacqueline Walter

August 9, 2024 by Jacqueline Walter

Waiata, By: Jacqueline Walter

The adults arrived
and I am sorry for you
not like real sorry
like ~ this has to be done, sorry
New Zealand cannot sustain your grifting stance, your dishonest glance
And, yes, you do know better, Lau Dawdy
You see, we thought that you didn’t and we were kind
giving you space to change your mind
like every other Kiwi
So, bear with us now, as we did you
New Zealand, finally, in not few NEWS
Only took us kotahi rau, plus Eightyfour
to stop you in your tracks
You, Te Ao, the Ward Cow
we long tolerated — your turn now

The Bullies Cry
Why?
because they know they could never pull off what WE could, IF we wanted to
What’s that?
decades of Tikanga, Gaslighting, Grooming, Trickery, and getting to own this country

Then who does?
near nothing
sing, it’s good for something
