Devastation Before Breakfast, By: Gordon Roberts

December 22, 2025 by Gordon Roberts

Devastation Before Breakfast, By: Gordon Roberts

It’s not the way that you went
That surprised me
It’s the way that I knew

It wasn’t the sight of you sitting so still
That destroyed me
You know I’ve seen it before

Your skin so cold to the touch
Didn’t phase me
I lived it half my life

Leaving you there
For strangers to stare
It disturbed me

But your vacant eyes
Reflecting the skies
Where once was my life
Nearly killed me
