Guilt and Forgiveness: Healing After Loss, By: Andrew Cyr

Guilt and Forgiveness: Healing After Loss, By: Andrew Cyr

I called
You didn’t answer
Dad’s dead
He didn’t suffer
You’d know
Better than us
The funeral
You weren’t there
The memories
Spoiled my soul
Some catch
You sold out
Fetch soil
Bouts to come
Tender melodies
Love casts stones
I’m guilty
I was here
But gone
The times changed
Dad didn’t
He sipped vodka
I died
He wanted better
Pure love
When Mom died
Years ago
He died inside
I sat
But didn’t listen
His eyes
Well adjusted before
Burned out
His candle dimmed
I’m guilty
We’re all guilty
Forgiveness lives
