Gluttonous Gall, By: Penguin Flaherty-Conerney

November 22, 2024 by Penguin Flaherty-Conerney

Gluttonous Gall, By: Penguin Flaherty-Conerney

Cruel crust that tempts me from afar,
With golden hue and scent of warmth and wheat,
Thy fragrant call makes every heart that beats skip verily a jolly beat,
Yet hides within a bitter, cursed scar.
I yearn for taste, for joy without a bar,
To savour bliss in every molten treat,
But gluten lurks, a villain in deceit,
Transforming love to agony bizarre.

For after pleasure, pain begins to rise,
A leaden weight that anchors soul and mind,
As stomach churns beneath accusing skies.
My heart laments the joy I cannot find,
Condemned to crave, yet in its grasp, despise—
A fleeting dream, forever left behind.

For Gluten. The slipperiest minx.
