Going Home, By: Sher Lyckman

October 4, 2024 by Sher Lyckman

Going Home, By: Sher Lyckman

Another world away., It seems,
a place I visit in my dreams,
Back to babbling Brooks, daffodils and Clover.. To run again through open fields and past the old oak tree.
A journey to the country, away from life’s fast pace
To mother’s smile, and daddy‘s warm embrace

A youth of strife and poverty now is bittersweet. What once was drudgery – now I find a treat.
Memories of my life back when I was young
my story not yet written— my song was not yet sung.

Today I’m going home again, my memories to renew. Joy fills my every thought – today my dream comes true!!
