Red, By: Allison Walters Luther

July 23, 2024 by Allison Walters Luther

Red, By: Allison Walters Luther

Actions speak louder than words
Or so we’re told
Your actions screamed
While your words whispered
Each weighed carefully
And marked down

It was a ledger of sorts
Lies versus truths
Dreams versus nightmares
Joy versus misery

Tally marks on my heart
Promises
Broken vows
And all things in between
Big and small

And at the end,
When the counting was done
Your ledger bled
Red
