Semi-amicable, By: Gabby Gilliam

Semi-amicable, By: Gabby Gilliam

We talked until the ache
pickled––pungent
tang of vinegar
earthy bite of dill

and so our numbness
eclipsed the visible
wrench of the break.

The dictionary defines us
as the opposite of pleasure
––incompatibility laid out
in black and white

our words a delicious sting.
