Unbroken, By: Nancy Davis

February 8, 2024 by Nancy Davis

Unbroken, By: Nancy Davis

Hold me safe enough for my broken pieces to go back to where they belong.
Wrap me close enough to your heart for my heart to hear the measured beats and learn how to beat again.
Kiss me sweet enough that I drink in your antidote and forget the bitter taste of my past.
Touch me soft enough for me to forget the pain that swathes my skin.
Speak words so sweet and calm that between them I can hear your measured breaths and remember how to breathe again.
Be so steadfast and reassuring that I can once again slip into a natural sleep knowing in the dawn you will be by my side.
Look at me with such love and warmth that I no longer fear the sun but instead feel its warmth as a welcomed friend.
Be so kind that even when you do not speak I will not fear your silence.
Let us peer deeply into one another’s souls long enough for me to feel hope that I am no longer broken.
